This is a cry that will echo in the hearts of all those who experience the pain of Eucharistic separation. It is a call to the churches to be converted rather than to individuals to disregard their denominational allegiances. It is a ‘Liberation theology of the Eucharist’, the authors explain, becuase it is written from the viewpoint of the of the Western churches – the laity, and women in particular. It is also liberative in that it seeks to empower churches and individual Christians to free themselves from historical distortions in their traditions and so to become their true selves in the freedom of the Gospel.
