Sailing to Singapore in the Wild Car with Captain Flint, an extraordinary accident happens. Transferring petrol from one tank to another while becalmed should be an easy task but somehow the ship’s monkey, Gibber, gets involved, Captain Flint drops his cigar and in a matter of moments the whole ship is ablaze. There is no choice but to abandon ship and take to the seas in the Swallow and the Amazon – two tiny ships in a vast ocean. Then a storm blows up, the ships get separated and the Swallows and Amazons are well on the way to their adventure with the mysterious and unaccountable pirate Missee Lee!
