A beautiful Edwardian gift edition of selected poetry by Elizabeth Barrett Browning, one of the most celebrated poets of the Victorian age. Best known for her Sonnets from the Portuguese, with its immortal opening line "How do I love thee? Let me count the ways", Browning's poetry is tender, passionate and deeply felt, as relevant and moving today as when it was first written.
This pocket-sized volume is bound in brown limp suede with an embossed decorative border to the front cover, and features a gorgeous Art Nouveau title page printed in green. Published by Leopold B. Hill of London and selected by R. A. S. Rankin, it is a lovely example of the beautifully produced little gift books that were so popular in Edwardian Britain, designed to be treasured as objects as much as read.
