Prayers for the Family

I have read with equal profit and pleasure Rita F. Snowden’s new book of prayers. This book combines in a very unusual way simplicity of language and beauty of language. It is laid out in a most helpful way. There is a prayer for a wife and a prayer for a husband and a prafer for both together for each day: and the children have their share. Miss Snowden, it seems to me, has entered with deep sympathy and understanding into the minds of ordinary people who have to do the ordinary work of the world. It is not too much to say that she has brought eternity to time and time to eternity. I have not the slightest doubt that this book would be of the greatest value in any home, not only as giving actual prayers to pray, but also as providing stimulation and inspiration for people to make their own prayers.
