Saved from the Waves

'Flossy!' I called again. Something's wrong. 

I started running, the blood pounding in my ears, keeping rhythm with my feet on the ground. The words tumbled out of my mouth:

'Our dog has fallen from the cliff, she's stuck on the ledge.'

'We've alerted the RNLI and they're sending a small lifeboat out.'

'The RNLI?' I said, surprised. 'They do that?'

All of a sudden, just over the cliff edge we saw a light. 

'It's the lifeboat's searchlight... they're here.'

This collection of remarkable animal rescues shines a light on the bravery of the RNLI crews and the necessity of those missions - not only to save beloved pets, wildlife and livestock that are at risk of drowning, but to prevent people unintentionally putting themselves in danger when trying to retrieve a cherished furry friend. 

Each day brings a new challenge for the extraordinary volunteer crews who are the lifeblood of the RNLI. They are here to save every life they can.
