Chrissy Galloway has come home to the North after the tragic death of her young husband. But though “east or west, home is best’, being back in Fellcar isn’t all plain sailing. Soon after she starts work at St Edith’s Hospital, grand, gothic and a local institution, three patients die in quick succession and Chrissy looks like being held responsible. She may even be accused of murder … But has she been set up? Is someone just looking for a scapegoat to blame for the closure of the much-loved St Edith’s?
