When Special Agent Maggie ODell receives a concerned phone call from Dr Gwen Patterson about a missing patient, she agrees “unofficially” to look into the woman’s disappearance.

At first, she dismisses Gwen’s fears, but then the body of a woman is discovered in a fity-ive-gallon drum buried in an abandoned rock quarry. Then more bodies, in more drums, are unearthed.

Is there a link between the missing patient and the murdered woman? As Maggie is drawn into a case that confounds even a seasoned criminal profiler like herself, she realises that she will need to dig deeper into her own resources than ever before.
