He drove on into the dancing, shimmering heat in a mood of murderous, elated expectation. He had become part animal, demanding life for life, blood for blood, corrupted by the savagery of the man he was hunting.

Van der Byl, the Old Man, dominated his diamond company and his family, holding both in an iron grip. Life was anything but secure for Johnny Lance. Adopted by the Old Man when a child, he was torn by his rivalry with Benedict, the Old Man’s son, and his passion for the lustful daughter Tracey.
